If you haven’t heard by now, let me go ahead and throw a moist newspaper at your face: I’m contributing content over at SF Signal.

It’s a big deal for me, because the folks over there have been putting out quality work for a long, long time now.

What’s that mean for us over here at OneLazyRobot? Oh, not much really. You’ll still get an unhealthy dose of my antics, but now, if it tickles your fancy, you can now pop over to SF Signal and get more.

*Warning: Do not exceed the daily recommended dose of Me.*

So, what are you waiting for? Head over there and check out the first article I wrote for them. It’s all about People of Color and books and unicorns (minus that unicorn part. that was a bald-faced lie). What’s not to love.

Where Are All The People of Color In Sci-Fi/Fantasy?

I went over to SF Signal and read your article there. I found it very informative. I never even noticed this about book covers. I look at the title and the cover of a book if it looks interesting I then read the jacket preview or the about when shopping on my kindle. I don’t think “Hey, the people on this cover photo are of color. I am not going to read it.”

I agree entirely. I’ve never looked at a book cover and thought, “Nah, I’m not going to read this because they put a black guy on the cover.” Sure, there *are* people that think like this in the world, but they are products of the past and we need to stop catering to them.

Thanks for taking the time to read the article and joining the conversation, Arlene!

    CONGRATS!

I love SF Signal. Great commentary to begin this part of your journey.

Any chance you’ll be doing book reviews? Sigh, sorry. Indie author. It’s a reflex.
